Whoopi Goldberg was officially named Wednesday as the new moderator of 'The View.' She said her new job is a "big ol' thrill for me." Goldberg jogged down the aisle of the New York studio, slapping hands with the audience, when the announcement was made live on the air by show creator Barbara Walters. "I love this show," said Goldberg, one of a select few performers to win an Oscar, Emmy, Tony and Grammy award. "I love coming on it. I love hanging out with you guys." When asked what she would be looking forward to the most and the least, Whoopi replied: "I'm looking forward to the hot topics. The thing I'm looking forward to the least is getting in between everyone talking at one time." Goldberg replaces Rosie O'Donnell, who announced she was leaving the show after less than a year filled with controversy and feuds with Donald Trump and co-Star Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "'The View' is in 'ongoing discussions' with several people for another cast slot," a spokesman said. "That would fill the chair left unoccupied since the departure of Star Jones Reynolds last year."

Vanessa Hudgens also posed for sexy photographs for former boyfriend Drake Bell before she was famous, claims a source. The candid mirror-image shots of Hudgens began circulating on the internet last week were allegedly intended for her boyfriend and 'High School Musical' co-star Zac Efron's eyes only, but an unknown third party stole the pictures and put them on the internet. Reportedly, this isn't the first time Hudgens posed naked for a boyfriend. Hudgens emailed racy shots to her former boyfriend several years ago. A representative for Bell denies the controversial pictures were ever received by him. Jill Fritzo says, "Drake says he never received those photos." Hudgens said in a statement, "I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

Britney Spears has shocked again, flashing her panty-less private parts at a paparazzi photographer after her performance at MTV Video Music Awards. Spears exposed herself while stepping into an awaiting limousine after leaving Las Vegas' Bellagio hotel, where she partied after her embarrassing awards show performance. While she was slammed for performing the opening act at the VMAs in a skimpy outfit, she made headlines for taking them off later, when she was caught without her panties by a WENN photographer. It's not the first time Spears has been caught without underwear. In November of last year, Spears revealed all to a photographer during a night out with party pal Paris Hilton, just two months after giving birth to her second child. Spears' most recent gaffe came just hours after she disappointed the VMA audience with a disjointed and critically panned comeback performance of her new single 'Gimme More,' her first major public appearance in four years. A bystander said, "What is she thinking? She's a mother of two and here she is flashing her goods to the world!"

Paris Hilton sold her 1926 Spanish-style Hollywood Hills home for $4.25 million. Hilton is buying a larger home in a gated community or, one with a long gated driveway, according to her aunt and informal spokeswoman, Kyle Richards. Hilton bought the four-bedroom residence in 2004 for about $2.9 million, during the second season of her reality show, 'The Simple Life.' She redecorated the interior in black and white and transformed one bedroom into a walk-in closet and another into a security control room. During Hilton's recent legal woes, her home was the center of a media invasion that was upsetting her neighbors. The throng of reporters and paparazzi staked out the home above Sunset Boulevard, capturing her move from jail to home and back again. The onslaught caused some residents to circulate a letter advising neighbors to call police about the noise and traffic. Richards, says their discomfort was not a factor in Paris' decision to sell. "I'm sure they'll be happy to see the paparazzi go, but that had nothing to do with it," Richards says. "She can't control the people who are outside."

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been caught taking drugs in rehab. She was allegedly forced to undergo a drug test by the staff at Utah's Cirque Lodge facility, and the results came back positive. Lohan has now been warned if she does not stay clean she will be thrown out of the center. A source claims, "Lindsay got called into the director's office and was questioned about drugs. When ordered to take a drug test, she reluctantly complied but screamed and cursed at the medical director before storming out the room. She was told that if she couldn't conform to the program she'd have to leave." According to reports, this is not Lohan's first indiscretion since entering Cirque Lodge earlier this month. She was reportedly caught having sex in a toilet stall with a male patient, who is also at Cirque for drug rehab. She is reportedly frequently late to meetings and refuses to do any chores or menial tasks such as toilet cleaning duties. Lohan entered the rehab center following her arrest after a high-speed car chase in Santa Monica. She was in possession of cocaine when she was taken into custody. Last week, Lindsay pleaded guilty to two charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance (cocaine) and pleaded no contest to two charges of DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol). She also pleaded no contest to one charge of reckless driving. After entering her plea bargain, she was sentenced to one day in jail and 36 months probation for her offences and ordered to undergo an 18-month alcohol rehabilitation program. This is Lohan's third stint in rehab. She previously stayed at the Wonderland and Promises facilities in Los Angeles.

A Los Angeles judge has issued a restraining order that prevents the release of a 1994 videotape documenting a breast augmentation surgery for Anna Nicole Smith. Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff granted the order at the request of Smith's former attorney and executor of her will, Howard K. Stern. The injunction prevents the sale, distribution or dissemination of the videotape. In court documents, Stern accused Gerald Wayne Johnson, the Texas doctor who performed the surgery, of sending a tape showing the procedure to Thomas Riccio, a Los Angeles-based memorabilia dealer. Stern claims the surgery was taped without Smith's consent. Smith died in Florida in February at the age of 39. Johnson claims he routinely records surgeries with the patient's permission and promises to keep the video confidential "during the patient's lifetime." Johnson said he gave Riccio permission to use the video after Smith died. Stern claims Johnson's wife and Riccio would share in any proceeds from the sale of the videotape to various media outlets.
